Had a backed up toilet and called to have a service person come out. I was told that because it was a weekend, the charge would be $125 and that that amount would be applied to any service that was done. When the plumber arrived I explained that the issue was in the toilet in the bathroom off the main bedroom. He looked for a clean out and then said that he had to go on to the roof to clean out the vent which would cost $350 just for going onto the roof. I asked him if he thought that was where the issue was located and he said yes, he would have to check there first. Now remember, he actually introduced himself as the plumber and even though I'm not a plumber, common sense would have indicated to start as the source of the problem ~ the toilet. He did go on to the roof and cleaned the vent, which didn't solve the problem. He then came down, went into the bathroom and removed the toilet and snaked the drain from there. This cleared the problem. The repairman did work and did solve the issue. My issue is the process that took place. Logic would indicate that you start where you're having an issue and not lug equipment up on a roof, but I'm not the plumber. I choose this business because it was local and I thought that giving some local company some business during these times might help out I will not use them again but go with a national brand. Just beware of who's doing the job and how.
